But that's likely just because there's maybe really no change notification from Samba for these files.

Keep Remote Directory up to Date
When using "Keep Remote Directory up to Date".
If you sync a remote directory on a server and then have it watch for changes in a samba share (have tested Fedora Core 8 and Ubuntu 10.04) only files of 4096 bytes and greater are detected as changed.
This happens whether connected via SCP or SFTP, with WinSCP 4.3.3 and prior.
Tested on Vista SP2 and Windows 7 SP1.
