WinCSP - file transfers are incredibly slow

I use WinSCP to upload files via unencrypted FTP to my website. Mostly just simple web pages and graphics.

I recently got a new computer and installed the latest version of WinSCP. Now uploading files takes so long, like 30 minutes to upload 3 megabytes when before it only took a few seconds. Nothing about my internet connection has changed, and the new computer is much faster (2.5ghz Intel quad-core compared to the old 1.6ghz AMD single-core) so I don't see what the problem could be.

I tried both the latest beta and non-beta, with nothing. Am on Windows XP Home. Anybody wanna help me out?
