Subsequent symbolic links show up as files

Hi,

my home directory on the remote systems mainly consists of symbolic links to directories.

WinSCP seems to translate only the first entry in a set of symlinks into a folder link, the remaining entries are translated to a file link.

If a set of symlinks is divided by a regular file, i.e. there are two sets, again, only every first entry of a set will be translated to a folder link.

Is this a WinSCP problem or are my settings bad?

Keep up the good work

Konrad

You have forgot to mention the two most important things: which version of WinSCP are you using and mainly, which protocol!! are you using: SCP/SFTP?

I do not understand this one. Please, try to explain it to me again.

Re: Subsequent symbolic links show up as files

Ok... Took me a while, but here we go:

WinSCP v3.4.2
Protocol: SCP -> does not work
SFTP -> does work

This is the remote directory:

drwx------ 4 holl link 96 Jul 17 10:39 development
lrwxrwxrwx 1 holl link 23 Mar 5 2003 faz -> /global/data/verity/faz
drwxrwxr-x 4 holl link 96 Oct 20 13:24 hal
-rwxrwxr-x 1 holl link 55 Sep 11 2002 idle.sh
lrwxrwxrwx 1 holl link 17 Apr 30 2002 link -> /data/verity/link
-rw------- 1 holl link 523 Mar 8 2002 local.alias
-rw------- 1 holl link 2804 Mar 8 2002 local.cshrc
-rw------- 1 holl link 102 Mar 8 2002 local.login
drwx------ 2 holl link 1024 Jul 17 09:47 patches
-rwxr-xr-x 1 holl link 145 Jun 18 18:15 save-bif.sh
lrwxrwxrwx 1 holl link 23 Mar 5 2003 sgw -> /global/data/verity/sgw
lrwxrwxrwx 1 holl link 13 May 7 2002 verity -> /tools/verity

The problem is a little different than described in the initial post. When using protocol SCP, only "link" is displayed as a directory; "faz", "sgw", and "verity" are displayed as regular files. Thus directory navigation does not work. As mentioned before, with protocol SFTP, everything works fine.

Best regards

Konrad

Re: Subsequent symbolic links show up as files

I would like to see a log file showing the directory being loaded. Thanks.
