My second submission.

Thanks! I like it. It integrates all the basic features of WinSCP nicely into compact image.
You are right that maybe the red/green arrows do not fit nicely with the other colors. So what about changing them to yellow? |

ok, i did some colour variations, have both arrows the same colour wasn't very clear on the smaller icons.
2 bl;ues to keep it simple. not too clear at lower res 
winscp colours.. looks fine at lower res 
default windows theme colours as it is a windows app, this seems quite fitting and looks fine at lower res =) (favorite) |

Much better. I like the second and third versions. Can you make other size variants as well? And .ico format so I can test it on my desktop?

Unfortunately the blue arrow blend with default background color of Windows. And the icon overaly blends with default taskbar color (grey) of classic Windows theme. I mean when you put icon into start menu or on Quick Launch toolbar. Would it be possible to make edge of the icon more contrasting to prevent that? No worry about deadline.
