FTP FROM BEHIND A FIREWALL

I am unable to connect from behind a firewall with WinSCP.
The way I normally do is: conect to the firewall with the IP ID and password. Then from the ftp prompt I just type
>user username@site.com then I enter the site password and I am there.
None of the proxi choices work.
Can somebody help?
Thanks

Alex

What do you use to connect to firewall?

Normally I use WS-FTP and check proxi (that was config previuosly) and the software connect with no problems. I noted that on WSFTP if I select SFTP the proxi selection is not available.

Thanks

I do not understand this approach. :-(
Maybe your proxy does not allow SFTP or port 22.
