How can I cancel a file tranfer that is in progress that was initiated using Session.GetFiles ?

No. You can only forcefully terminate a session using Session.Abort:

What are the risks of using session.abort ? Leaving session active on server?

The TCP/IP connection is closed in any case. So it's unlikely.
