Topic "Directory list behavior works poorly with very large listing"

I often work with directories with large numbers of files (10k - 100k) and the way WinSCP handles this leaves a lot to be desired. It just shows that ancient picture of a flashlight and becomes completely unresponsive until the entire listing comes in.

It would be very nice if there was an option to abort a directory listing and go to the parent, or back to the previous directory.

Using WinSCP 5.5, Windows 7

What protocol are you using?

It's the same with FTP and SFTP, haven't tried SCP.

But with SFTP you can cancel the listing (with Esc key).
