test mode or command for sync

I am preparing to use this app at my work for synchronizing our remote mfg servers. however, since the files on the remote server are used for production, we cant just change them, we first need to generate a changed file list. After much research, this does not seem to be possible (I am using filezilla server) with WinSCP in its current implementation.
I figured that I could go in to the source and perhaps add a scripting command to fence out the actual transfer and I would be left with the comparison log to the console. Or I could dump the same file list that is generated by the syncronize gui dialog to a log file and abort the sync, all via the commandline. When I looked closer at the source, I see that the requirements are beyond my reach (builder stuff).

Could you please add this support? I don't want this to sound like a randsom demand, but I have convinced my company to donate to this project (I really like to support open source), but that would be a hard sell if we did not end up using it.

The rest of the feature set seems to fit our need perfectly except for this. I will beta test anything you can muster. This is rather high priority for me, as I am under schedule pressure, so whatever you can do to help me.

thanks for a great program.
