winscp is working fine on localhost, however, the transfer speed is not extraordinary, i.e. not really faster than for a connection to a remote server. Is it possible to speed-up a "local" connection? I often synchronize folders or disks on localhost or within a local network, and winscp is the best for this, except the speed...

I tested the transfer time of two files, each about 100MB, from c:\...\folder1 to c:\...\folder2 on a windows XP with cygwin, no FTP.
winscp, SFTP protocol, 120 seconds, indicated speed 1700KB/s in maximum winscp, SCP protocol, 100 seconds, indicated speed 2300KB/s in maximum Dos scp 25 seconds Dos cp 25 seconds Dos copy 5 seconds A faster winscp would be great, e.g. for using synchro, thanks. |
