Topic "Download speed"

When I try to download a large file (about 500 MB) from my linux machine to my windows XP with WinSCP, it only reaches a max. speed of 80 b/sec. When I download the file with FTP or samba it reaches about 9 MB/sec. When I just use SCP on another linux machine there are no problems either. Does anybody know what this might be?

Have you selected SCP or SFTP on login dialog?

SFTP, but scp isn't very fast either (about 500 KB/sec), but I can live with that Smile.

SSH (SCP) will be always slower than FTP, because of the encryption. Current implementation of SFTP in WinSCP is rather slow, I have just finished new version, which should be times faster. I'll release it soon.
