Re: SSHFTP?

There's definitely an SFTP server running on the remote host. But it looks like it is not configured properly.

I kind of figured SSHFTP didn't exist considering there is nothing on the internet about it. Anyways, thank you for the response and here is my log:

Re: SSHFTP?

There's no SSHFTP. But SFTP means "SSH File Transfer Protocol", so they may may mean SFTP. WinSCP is compatible with Tectia SSH server. Can you post a log file?

Thanks Mike, but I am still not 100% sure it is supported because of the error I get from WinSCP when I connect. I forgot to mention that I am using public authentication and my key has been registered with the server. The technical contact keeps telling me they are not set up for SFTP, but I think she doesn't really know very much so she is just saying that to push me in the direction of PGP, which I would rather not use. Anyone ever hear of SSHFTP before?

SSHFTP?

Hello,

I am trying to connect to a server that I am told is using SSHFTP. My technical contact says they are not set up for SFTP, but I haven't heard of SSHFTP before. Does anyone know if SSHFTP actually exists or is my technical contact mistaken? Also, I have been able to authenticate with the server using WinSCP, but I always get an error message that says, "Server returned empty listing for directory '/MyUsername'." after the connection is made.

If my assumption is correct, then they are using Tectia's SSH server. If this is true, is WinSCP compatible with Tectia's SSH server? Is there something I must do to read the directory after authentication, such as point WinSCP to a specific place on the server?
