You may increase timeout on Connection tab of login dialog.

The problem is that satellite connections are optimised for web browsing. any other more "interactive use" (like chat, telnet or winscp for example) is going to suffer the wrath of the "satellite delay". It takes a significant fraction of a second for EACH PACKET to get up to the satellite and back down again. It will work if winscp's timeouts can be increased, but the interactivity will be very slow.

Does it work with Starband satellite?...

I've got a broadband satellite connection through Starband. I've tried uploading some files via this connection using WinSCP and I always get a 'Host not responding...' error. I've tried using the newest version of WinSCP and get the same result.

However, I can using a dial-up connection and get a file to upload using WinSCP.

Is there something inherent with the satellite connection that would make it incompatible with using WinSCP. (NOTE: I can use a regular FTP client to upload files using the Starband without any problems.)

Thanks to anyone who can help...
