Crash after lost connection

When I shutdown my FTP server before closing WinSCP (version 4.0.5), WinSCP (correctly) displays a dialog titled "Error" with message "Lost connection". I press OK. WinSCP (correctly) shows the "WinSCP Login" window. I press Close. WinSCP becomes unresponsive. If I right-click on WinSCP in the system tray at the bottom of the screen and chose Close, I get the usual Windows dialog stating "This program is not responding". I press "End now" and get the Windows dialog "Please tell Microsoft about this problem". I routinely start and shutdown FTP servers about 10 times a day, so this is a constant annoyance.
