Re: Ini file is stored in program directory

Preferences are stored to an INI file in program directory, only if you use portable WinSCP (i.e. if you have not installed it) and only if you have write permissions to the directory. Otherwise windows registry are used. Does it fit?

Ini file is stored in program directory

I just downloaded WinSCP and I liked it at once. But the preferences are stored in the program directory. I thought by now every programmer should known that there are user accounts with different privileges and rights and that not erverybody is running his Windows with the administrator account. I am only working with a restricted user account, therefore WinSCP can not store its preferences in the program directory. The preferences should be stored either in the user's profile folder or in the registry.

Sorry but I can not use your program.
