No, it's not the case that excel opens quickly and the local .xls takes the time to be displayed. When excel opens after a while, it opens with the sheet loaded.

I'm sorry I'm confused. So it happens even when you open local file from Windows Explorer, does it?

Re: Slow to open applications eg. excel

I haven't seen the problem before.
Do you see the problem with all applications (not only excel/firefox)?
When you open excel spreadsheet stored in local file by double clicking it, does the excel open quickly?

Slow to open applications eg. excel

Hi,

When WinSCP is transferring, I try to open an application such as Excel or Firefox etc but there is always a delay of 5 or 10 seconds before it opens.

Once the application is open, it's not a problem. I've got into the habit of leaving a copy Excel, Firefox etc open for use later.

Is there a fix for this ?

Thanks,

Russ
