Just set up:

shell = /bin/sh
uncheck "lookup groups"
choose windows carriage returns

And map the default remote directory to one of your cygdrive mounts, e.g. /cygdrive/C

I managed to get it running with the following settings:
Shell
- Shell: /bin/sh
- EOL characters: CR/LF [13/10] (Windows)
- Do not "Lookup user groups"

WinSCP requires UNIX-style shell. Author of OpenSSH for Windows used to have description, how to setup WinSCP, but as the project is closed, it is not accessible any more.

Here is the copy of my log...
It logs in successfully and then immediatly logs me off..never gives me a success window or files to view ect.. I have tried changing the default shell to /bin/bash.
