MY guess is that ascii/text transfer mode is involved. Try to switch to binary mode.

Number of line changes after copying data file

I copied a data file with 162500 lines from local Windows PC to a Linux supercomputer using Winscp but found the line number became 162505!!! :shock: I copied it back from Linux to windows, and found the line number became 162500 again!! :lol: This is really strange, but because of this problem, my program which reads the data file would not run on the supercomputer. :cry: It will be great if you could give me some advice on why this happens and how it can be possibly fixed. Many thanks! :D
