Re: Private Key Clarification

If the server refuses your private key, what seems to be the case, WinSCP falls back to password authentication.

Private Key Clarification

Hi ,

My Boss has created a public/private key for a unix server . He said me the private key is placed in this particular path .

I opened the winscp UI part , in host column i have given the host server ip and UN as xxxxx and I selected the private key path . Here I am not enetering password .

But still it is prompting me or asking for the password . why is it so . is there any problem with the private keys or sometimes it is saying server refused our key .

please help me to resolve the issue . I would like to know is this a problem with key or the way i am acceesing is wrong . Why does it prompt for session password even after giving the private key path .

Thanks
Raghav
