Re: Update on "Hostgator says WINSCP tripping SSH-ATTACK "

So what did WinSCP do when it triggered the rule?

Update on "Hostgator says WINSCP tripping SSH-ATTACK "

Update: Hostgator support is saying "What this rule does is temporary block IPs which try to establish an SSH connection 12 times with 10min. This rule is in place to mitigate possible brute-force SSH attacks."

They said to lower "Maximum number of transfers at the same time", but I have it set to 1.

Hostgator says WINSCP tripping SSH-ATTACK firewall rule

WinSCP 4.2.8 on Windows 7

Sometimes WinSCP will have trouble connecting to hostgator using SFTP.

Their response was: "your FTP client is triggering our SSH-ATTACK firewall rule . The best way to resolve this issue is to limit the amount of times your client connects to transfer files . With Filezilla there is an option to do this but I currently do not see one for WinSCP"

Any ideas appreciated.
