Re: Running Pageant as an NT Service

I investigated, and turned out, that when running Pageant as an NT Service, it will not prompt for a passphrase. So Winscp cannot be used from Oracle database, if you have a private key with passphrase on it.

Running Pageant as an NT Service

Hello,

I'd like to use Winscp from under Oracle 10g database, running on Windows 2003.
We've got a private key with passphrase to access the desired sFtp site (to send and receive data).
I see, that I need to use Pageant in this case, but since Oracle can only run OS commands as 'NT Service', I'll need to run Pageant as an NT Service, too. Running from Oracle, I'll never get a GUI, where I can enter the passphrase, but maybe if I can start it as a Service, Windows will let me type the passphrase in.
Is there a way to run Pageant as an NT Service?
(I know, the other way would be to ask for a private key without a passphrase, but I'd like to try this approach first.)
