Thanks Tordek! I am glad to have a work around. I am using Windows Server 08r2 and Windows 7 Pro SP1 64bit.

Now that I know I can F5 or right click and no delays, I am a happy user again.

I'm facing the same problems as crossgate, at a customer. Problem started to occur after migrating them to new servers.

In the old situation they would store their data on a local drive on the terminal server (2008R2). In the new situation (2008R2 TS also) their data folder has become a mapped drive.

Problem only occurs when drag and dropping from remote to mapped drive.

As workaround they use F5 or right-mouse-click -> copy which brings up the copy dialog immediately.

WinSCP v4.3.5.

Thanks for your post. I'll contact you soon on your email address.

Re: WinSCP "freeze" when copy to mapped network drive

What I checked further:
- I also used the portable Version of WinSCP on W2k8 R2 NOT via RDP Session only on Console - same "issue".
- Used latest WinSCP Version on Windoes 7 x64 Client - same "issue" when transfering files to mapped drives.

Thanks!

Hi,

we using WinSCP on a Windows Terminal Serve 2008 R2 (x64), when we transfer files from remote Server to a mapped network drive, WinSCP looks like "freeze" befor attempt to diplay the "Copy" Windows.
WinSCP needs approx. 2-5 Min. untill copy the file.
This only happen to mapped drives. Transfering files to local disk on Windows Terminal Server 2008 R2 works fine.
We checked:
- that on a Windows 2003 Terminal Server (32Bit) the "issue" doesn`t happen.
- Transfering from Windows Server 2008 to Windows Server 2008 mapped drives still same "issue"
- Used diffrent version of WinSCP (4.1.9 and 4.3.4 and alos Beta 5), in every Version the same "issue"

Do you know about that?
Is there a bug?
What would you recommend?

Thanks!
