What version of WinSCP are you using? Have you tried the latest 5.0.8 beta?

Re: Better handling of lost connections

Can you send me an email, so I can send you back a debug version of WinSCP to track the problem? Please include link back to this topic in your email. Also note in this topic that you have sent the email. Thanks.

You will find my address (if you log in) in my forum profile.

Better handling of lost connections

Nine times out of ten, if WinSCP loses its connection to a remote server - which it seems to do quite often, either due to timeout or loss of network or whatever - it crashes. Since I tend to edit remote files, this forces me to jump through quite a few hoops to save what changes I made since the last save, kill the WinSCP process, reconnection, reopen the file, copy-paste my changes...well, you get the idea.
