Re: Version differences

The only relevant difference I can think of, is that WinSCP 4.x uses obsolete commmand LIST to retrieve directory listing, while 5.x uses MLSD.

Though I'm not sute how this could cause your problem.

Please attach complete session log files from both versions.

Version differences

I have two Win7 X64 computers in my test environment. One is running version 4.3.5 and the other version 5.1.3

The 4.3.5 version connects to my FTP server and provides a directory listing of files in the root folder of the FTP account.

The 5.1.3 version connects to my FTP server (so I know the credentials are correct) but gives me an access denied error when the directory list is attempted.

If I remove version 5.1.3 from that computer and install version 4.3.5 then both the connection and directory listing work.

Is there some difference between these two versions that would cause this type of problem?

With the computers side-by-side I compared all of the setting (including advanced) on 4.3.5 versus 5.1.3 and all settings match.

Any guidance you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you, Herb
