Make WinSCP log both in GUI and scripting and compare the logs. If that does not help, attach the logs here.

"open...sftp" is another way of doing it interactively.
I tested with another sftp and was able to enter credentials.

I also tried what you suggested and got the same network error.

Just doesn't make sense that I can log in via client and not through DOS.

anyone?
meliOnTheJob

also, i can ping it. and the firewall is off.

can login via WinSCP client but not via DOS

howdy-

so if i launch Winscp.exe and enter the info, i can connect to the sftp with no problems.
when i navigate to the winscp folder via DOS and and test the connection by doing
winscp.com
open
sftp name

i get "searching for host....Network error: connection time out"

what am i missing here?

pls help. ultimately i have a script to login, connect, copy file...but if it doesn't work manually, it will not work in automation.

pls help
