Re: Error when using GUI to copy files from remote directory

Please attach a full log file showing the problem (using the latest version of WinSCP).

To generate log file, enable logging, log in to your server and do the operation and only the operation that causes the error. Submit the log with your post as an attachment. Note that passwords and passphrases not stored in the log. You may want to remove other data you consider sensitive though, such as host names, IP addresses, account names or file names (unless they are relevant to the problem). If you do not want to post the log publicly, you may email it to me. You will find my address (if you log in) in my forum profile. Please include link back to this topic in your email. Also note in this topic that you have emailed the log.

OK... ignore the last bit... I found the setting but it didn't help when I cleared the checkbox. I still get the error as described above.

Error when using GUI to copy files from remote directory

I'm using WinSCP 5.1.3 (Build 2881) under Windows 7. On numerous occasions, I've gotten an error message when trying to copy files from my remote directory to the local drive.

The remote directory is the /opt directory on my Router (DD-WRT v24-sp2 (08/12/10) std-usb-ftp (SVN revision 14929))
The local directory is an 8GB flash drive (with plenty of space for the copied files)

My WinSCP session is using SCP protocol on port 22 and I've got a private key file defined.

I can reproduce the error fairly reliably by selecting numerous text files on the report directory and copying them to the local directory. The process gets started and then [occasionally] an error dialog appears with the text:
`Error geting name of remote directory.

Command 'pwd'
failed with return code 1 and error message`

(but there is no error message)

I dismiss the dialog and eventually a Confirm dialog appears:
`Host is not communicating for more than... try turning off 'optimizeconnection buffer size'

I've looked but I did not notice that option in the preferences... where do I find it? What else might be causing this?

TIA

Al
