For Oscar, as suggested select the editor you prefer (scite, gvim are good choises) in the options and you are done....

Actually I feel the internal editor is not needed... I do not see any advantage over external ones. It is IMO much more important to be able to open/edit multiple documents simultaneously without locking everything...

I fear that this would blow size of the application too much. You may use external editor that has highlighting.

Is there a possibility to write a "syntax hightlight" plugin for internal editor in WinScp?
I need this for php, but it doesn't matter actually.
