Re: Network error: Software caused connection abort

Dear Dr.prikryl

i'm sorry that the test-reports
are too late because of my other works.

test results are below...
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
Client:A

OS WindowsXP 5.1.2600 Service Pack 1
WinSCP Versions 310,340,366,368,210
One file(applox.6MB) transferring(create and overwrite)

The very same problem occured on all WinSCP versions.
Some servers,i tried to transfer the same file to,but
failed.
it was interesting that file-transporting is successfully
completed occasionally.it is mysterious...
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
Client:B

OS WindowsXP 5.1.2600 Service Pack 1
WinSCP Versions 310,340,366,368,210
One file(applox.6MB) transferring(create and overwrite)

Any problems has not been occured with same servers!
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

it was proven that this problem is not of WinSCP application(s),
i suppose.
i already verification MTU and ECN configurations, but no problems
were found.perhaps,it could be affinity-problem...

thank you.

P.S.
I'm looking forward to full scripting/automation functions are available.

Some network-level suspects:
Broken Path MTU Discovery
Broken ECN (Explicit Congestion Notification)
NAT router or stateful firewall losing state too quickly (some NAT routers and stateful firewalls are broken and forget connections after relatively short intervals - this isn't noticed until you try to use a protocol that utilizes long-lived connections - typical web browsing creates and tears down connections rather quickly, on the order of a few seconds to a few minutes)

With the first two, any routers or other systems between you and the host you are transfering to could break things. Particularly, if the administrator has blindly disabled certian ICMP messages, PMTU discovery and ECN will cause a connection to hang. With the last, it would most likely be a router or firewall near one of the endpoints, and therefore easier to find.

Or it could just be a bug in WinSCP - Try some of the command line SCP/SFTP clients to see if the problem can be duplicated. If you are able to duplicate, its probably a networking problem. If not, then you can probably blame WinSCP

Re: Network error: Software caused connection abort

thank you for your reply and kind offer,Mr.prikryl.
Although,the server is not mine.
It belongs to the company which I'm working at,so
it's difficult to respond to your offer.
Anyway,i will do some tests, such as...

- by several WindowsOSs(client machine) with winSCP3.6.6
- by other versions of winSCP
(it was found that ver3.6.1 on WindowsXP SP1 didn't encountered this problem!)

these results will be reported in a few weeks.

thank you
martin

Re: Network error: Software caused connection abort

Can I have limited test account on your server?
