Re: sftp script file transfer

Please attach a full log file showing the problem (using the latest version of WinSCP).

To generate log file, use /log=path_to_log_file command-line argument. Submit the log with your post as an attachment. Note that passwords and passphrases not stored in the log. You may want to remove other data you consider sensitive though, such as host names, IP addresses, account names or file names (unless they are relevant to the problem). If you do not want to post the log publicly, you can mark the attachment as private.

sftp script file transfer

I have created a script to transfer files from an sftp site to my server.

here is the script

option batch abort
option confirm off
echo opening client
open sftp://userid:password@sftp.server:22 -hostkey="ssh-rsa 1024 <host key>"
echo client is Open
echo transfer Files
get -transfer=automatic *.pgp D:\data
echo Transfer complete
close
exit

I've replaced the server and stuff with generic names for privacy.

the problem is, the file disappears from the remote sftp site, and never gets to the local server.
I had it with a -delete in the get statement, and when I wasn't getting the file, I took the -delete out and it still deletes the remote file, and doesn't transfer the file.
I have a very similar script connecting to an ftps site, and that works just fine.
I'm using winscp 5.1.3 build 2881
