Thanks for the suggestion.

you're right :) for some reason it was unchecked in view=>prefs=> env =>confirmations =>transfers

what's confusing is that, that popup does not show when it is unchecked but the ellipsis symbol in the context menu "..." tells the user to expect a prompt.

maybe it shouln't be disabled but instead add another context menu entry to download to [whateverlastfolder]?

that could be usefull and not break the windows standards.

Re: explorer view: download to wrong directory

my point was that it shouldn't transfer to my documents, it should show a popup with the computer's folders for the user to choose from, that's what the "..." are for.

True. WinSCP does (by default) show the popup.
You must have disabled it.

You must have disabled confirmation of Transferring of files at:
https://winscp.net/eng/docs/ui_pref_environment

In explorer mode, it started fine in remote dir but not local dir. (this may be why. please to check if "local dir" variable is properly init. with user settings)

There's no local panel in Explorer interface.

explorer view: download to wrong directory

hey there, reporting 2 bugs in winscp 5.7.4

i just noticed this bug in explorer interface: when right-click on a file or folder => Download...

(1) it downloaded to "my documents" and (2) without asking where i want it saved.

i was logued in with a login profile/session with set Local and remote directories in Session settings => Environment -> Directories

In explorer mode, it started fine in remote dir but not local dir. (this may be why. please to check if "local dir" variable is properly init. with user settings)

In commander mode, it started properly in remote/local dirs.
