Double-click means by default "execute the file locally". You should use drag&drop drop or other means to transfer the file. Optionally you may enable transfers using double-click in Preferences.

Sweet, thanks. I can "drag and drop" with no problems!

Cheers!

One idea: instead of downloading file you "execute it" (double-click or similar). WinSCP downloads it to temporary folder and executes it locally. The file is executable file and is part of some Microsoft software. It misses other files, which are part of the software, or detects that it was not installed properly and shows the error. Can it be? What exacly do you do to "download file"?

Thanks for the quick reply!
Yes, I thought it was most likely a windows "feature" - I am double clicking on the file to download it...

Cannot transfer any files - popup window telling me to reinstall

I get the following popup window when I try to download a file from my server:

"Cannot display the End User License Agreement which must be displayed and accepted before you can use the application. To display the agreement, reinstall the application"

This pops up in a window labelled "Microsoft". I am running...
WinSCP 3.7.1 build 257
FTP is SCP

I am running this on a brand new PC and did a fresh install of WinSCP (then uninstalled and installed again). The only odd part of my setup is that I had WinSCP installed (and working fine) on my old PC before the motherboard died - and I am using the same User Profile (Win2k server) on the new machine. - (could there be errant values still stored in the reg?)

I can log in to the server no problem, but as soon as I try to download a file I get that error. Any ideas? I have seen the same thing mentioned on MSofts site for different programs, but don't know how to solve it for WinSCP
