What protocol SCP or SFTP? SFTP version 4 and newer supports UTF-8 filename encoding. With the version german character should be preserved. Older versions of SFTP and SCP does not support this.

German special characters

I work with WinSCP 3.7.1 Build 257.

When I copy folders or files with names including German special characters as , the names of the copied folders or files are changed (for example: lhafen changed to "lhafen). What can I do?
