Re: complete how to

I'm sorry, but without knowledge of the hosting rules and the directions you refer to I can hardly help you. If you do not wish to post the link to the directions here, you need to ask someone near you whom you trust to help you instead. You can also send me the directions by an email, if it is acceptable for you.

Thank you for your response Martin. My friend as a website and I wanted to do an update of my own on her site. She told me to type in wwx."her site"/update . I am not sure if I should put the name of the site on this post. She told me to follow the directions on the site after that. Then she was disconnected from the instant message and left town this morning for two weeks! I wanted to get some updates done while she is gone. After I typed in the above the site created directories for me. It then prompted me to use an ftp utility to upload the "free pictures" My friend told me to download this program to do the update so I clicked on the winscp3 icon. The first screen came up and I clicked load. I then entered the directory that the site told me to use. I then upload pictures. The site said to click on a bar on the site when I was finished so after the pictures appeard in the right side of the window on winscp I clicked the bar on the site. The site then said "upload members pics". So I closed winscp then reopened it using the new directory that the site told me to use. It took forever to upload all of the members picks so I let it run overnight. When I got up this morning all the pictures had been transfered to the right side of winscp again so I clicked the bar on the site that said" click here when you are done uploading the members pics". I then closed winscp. The site said confirm the pictures were uploaded by going to the site. I did that and it shows the update but the pictures arent there. There are x's in place of the pictures in the free area and no pictures in the members area. Did I miss a step??? I am gratefull for any help I can get on this! Thanks

Re: Complete how to

I you have suceeded to upload the files using WinSCP, you do not need to learn anything more about it.

You should better ask someone acknowledged with your hosting provider if you have uploaded the files to right directory, etc. Or maybe to learn something about WWW/HTML, just in case you do not know how to link the images or how to enter correct URL in the browser to display them.

If you do not know whom to ask, you may post here what exactly you have done and what you have expected the result to be like. Maybe someone can advice you then, what you have done wrong.

Complete how to

Hello I just downloaded this program and had someone help me get started, but I lost contact with them and I have no idea what I am doing. Is there someplace that I can get a complete set of instructions that will show me how to do an update to a site? I transfered pictures from my computer to the host last night but none of the pictures show up on the site. I greatly appreciate any help you can give me.
