This is done for compatibility with Putty, which also stores proxy passwords unencrypted. Anyway I consider your request.

Storing of proxy passwords

One thing I have noticed is that proxy logins and passwords are stored in the registry (or ini file) in plain text. Would it be possible to implement storing these in an encrypted form in a future release?

I realise it would be possible to store to an ini file and then secure that file through regular windows security/encryption or even a further 3rd party encryption utility or other such workaround, but that's a bit awkward.
