Re: Delay when opening WinSCP for the first time (since updating to 5.9.1)

Thanks for your report.

Can you send me an email, so I can send you back a debug version of WinSCP to track the problem? Please include link back to this topic in your email. Also note in this topic that you have sent the email. Thanks.

You will find my address (if you log in) in my forum profile.

Hi,
I already tried steps to troubleshoot, which were mentioned in other topics here:
- Try to restart the machine
- Try to run WinSCP with blank configuration (winscp.exe /ini=nul)

=> Both do not solve the problem.

In fact everytime I restart my PC the delay happens again, launching WinSCP for the first time (even with ini=nul!).. Second launch works fine/immediately.

Delay when opening WinSCP for the first time (since updating to 5.9.1)

I just updated WinSCP from 5.7.7 to 5.9.1 and I have a problem which hasn't been there before:

When I open Winscp for the first time after rebooting (Windows 7 x64), the first thing I see is the blank main windows and it takes at least (!) 10-20 seconds for the connections-box to show up.
Then everythings works smooth.
When I close and reopen WinSCP this does not happen again, the connectios-box shows up immediately, just like before the update to 5.9.1..

I have my connections saved to a winscp.ini in my Users path and start Winscp using a shortcut: "C:\Program Files (x86)\WinSCP\WinSCP.exe" /ini=C:\Users\.......\WinSCP.ini
I already tried starting without ini, using a defauls shortcut or starting the exe from the program files folder - same error again..

Can anyone "confirm" this?
