Re: APPCRASH WinSCP.com 4.4.0.7136 - WInSCP v5.9.3 (Build 7136) on Server 2008 R2 SP1

I had a mistake in my script (I had omitted the credentials from the login), and the problem is solved.
Thanks for your help and thanks for WinSCP!

Re: APPCRASH WinSCP.com 4.4.0.7136 - WInSCP v5.9.3 (Build 7136) on Server 2008 R2 SP1

Hi, Martin, thanks for your post!

I previously updated WinSCP from the Update icon in the program, then ran the downloaded file WinSCP-5.9.3-Setup.exe and selected "Full Upgrade (recommended) - upgrades all previously installed components"

The upgrade successfully detected the program directory, and ran to completion. I just now did the upgrade again with logging enabled; the install log shows:
2017-01-16 08:30:53.755   Dest filename: d:\Program Files (x86)\WinSCP\WinSCP.com

2017-01-16 08:30:53.755   Time stamp of our file: 2016-11-30 13:57:12.000
2017-01-16 08:30:53.755   Dest file exists.
2017-01-16 08:30:53.755   Time stamp of existing file: 2016-11-30 13:57:12.000
2017-01-16 08:30:53.756   Installing the file.
2017-01-16 08:30:53.776   Successfully installed the file

I checked WinSCP.com and It announces itself as:
WinSCP, Version 5.9.3 (Build 7136)

Copyright (c) 2000-2016 Martin Prikryl

So WinSCP.com thinks it is the latest version.

The Explorer details tab of WinSCP.com show:
Date Created 11/25/13 5:32 AM

Date Modified 11/20/16 1:57 AM

The APPCRASH is still occurring, and still shows:
Problem signature:

  Problem Event Name:   APPCRASH
  Application Name:   WinSCP.com
  Application Version:   4.4.0.7136
  ...

So, my assumption is that the version is somehow miscoded in the WinSCP.com executable.

Thanks.

Re: APPCRASH WinSCP.com 4.4.0.7136 - WInSCP v5.9.3 (Build 7136) on Server 2008 R2 SP1

you are not using 5.9.3, the error says 4.4.0.
Maybe you have a different version of winscp.com and winscp.exe.
