If it was only about adding the new algorithm, I would not mind using a beta version. But as the development code of PuTTY has a lot of ongoing significant changes to the code, I would not dare.

AES-NI support

Hi Martin,

Would there not be any reason to include AES-NI support by incorporating the latest development snapshot? Or would this not be good practice?

If you do incorporate it I can test for you.

Re: Improving performance with AES-NI support

Once the next version of PuTTY is released, we'll integrate it into WinSCP.
(As long as the new code can be compiled using our compiler)

Improving performance with AES-NI support

Hi,

thanks for the great software!

I'm pretty excited about the AES-NI support, which will be added to PuTTY probably in the next release 0.71. It will be a performance boost because AES decryption/encryption is performed directly by the CPU.

Will there be AES-NI support also in WinSCP?

Regards,
Patrick
