winscp.com with timeout specified

How can I specify a timeout when using the winscp.com commnand line features? I have it automated using a batch file but all of my put commands eventually fail because my device is very slow saving the file to its internal storage. If I used the graphical interface, it works if I set the timeout long like 60 seconds. All the files work perfectly. If I make it 30 seconds or under it fails. It seems the command line interface is maybe only 5-10 seconds. I've tried all sorts of command line switches and they are either ignored or give an error.
