program crashed when try to edit an image with internal editor

After connected to a machine with SSH service running through SFTP protocol, if trying to edit an image in the machine with internal editor directly, the program seems to crash and exits immediately.
Then I repeat the steps above with windbg attached to the WinSCP process, it shows the stack overflow (code 0xc00000fd) exception(not stack buffer overflow exception).
Related information are as follows:
    WinSCP version: 5.13.1(latest version available from the website) (both installed version and portable version have been tested)
    Version of Microsoft Windows: both win10 education version and winxp sp3 have been tested
    Transfer protocol: both SFTP and SCP have beed tested
    User interface: Commander
