filename+extension selection

Is it possible to select the filename+extension in actual version? F2 works just for filename without extension and I did not found any option in the Properties panel... I used F2 in previous versions very often and I need it to select the whole filename, because usually I past this filename in the command line after that....

Thanks, good idea.

P.s. and while we are at it, let's change it to Shift+F6 like in TC ;))

Sorry, I do not want to change that. Shift+F6 is already occupied in WinSCP.

Do not select extension when renaming with F2

The best approach would be if you could enable / disable the feature in Preferences. This way everybody would be happy :D

No, almost always changing filename & extension together.

1.htm => index.html
#$%&.txt => some.js
...

@W.Ed.: Are you changing the extension only? Then I do not see how the previous behaviour was more useful for you? Still you had to select or delete the extension manually.

Using your test version...
I want standard behaviour with F2.
I'm very often making changes to extensions... and also dislike Explorer feature to hide extensions at all.
Of course I can press Shift+End, but..

OK, let's see how the crowd will like it... :-)

I think it is a bad idea if no option to disable will be realized.

Do not select extension when renaming with F2

Attention to the details is what makes a program great. :)

I suggest implementing the following minor feature:

When pressing F2 to rename files, the complete file name is selected, so the use can start typing without deleting the old file name first. Let alone the actual file name (without the extension) be selected after pressing F2! Most probably, in the majority of cases users do not want to change the file extension when renaming files (and when they do, they can delete the extension manually).
