Re: Moving files on a remote server from one directory to another is failing with Rename Failed

Can you rename/move a file using any other FTP client?

Re: Moving files on a remote server from one directory to another is failing with Rename Failed

Log is attached.

Server is WS-FTP 7.5, on Windows Server Enterprise 2008SP2.

I have no problem copying the test.txt file from my local directory to the ftp server. I can also copy files to the destination (/archive) folder using Winscp. I just cannot move files between remote folders.

Thanks, James

I am able to see other files in the subdirectory.

Re: Moving files on a remote server from one directory to another is failing with Rename Failed

What FTP server is that? Please attach a full session log file showing the problem.

To generate the session log file, enable logging, log in to your server and do the operation and only the operation that causes the error. Submit the log with your post as an attachment. Note that passwords and passphrases not stored in the log. You may want to remove other data you consider sensitive though, such as host names, IP addresses, account names or file names (unless they are relevant to the problem). If you do not want to post the log publicly, you can mark the attachment as private.
