Oops, I see that the answer is to use SFTP. I'll try that.

If synchronize is based on GMT for both LOCAL and REMOTE, regardless of time zone, then this would not be a problem.

Time Zone Synchronize

There is a problem with the SYNCHRONIZE BOTH function. My local time is California but the REMOTE time is Texas (2 hours earlier). If I synchronize BOTH local and remote, some files modified LATER on REMOTE will be overwritten by EARLIER versions on LOCAL because of TIME ZONE differences.
