Recovery of the file

During editing of the ascii file located on server via WinSCP 4.2.9 there was a connection release.
When I connected to the server again I found that lengh of the file is 0. There is no such a file left in the temporary directory.
So I lost the file I was working for couple of days.
The question is it possible to restore it? I found that in the same directory I was working there is a binary file "core"? Do you know may be I can get some lost information from this file?
