You can encrypt private key with passphrase. But that you cannot use encrypted key automatically. Alternative is to restrict access to the key using Windows file system permissions and encryption.

I've got a task running which has identified as a risk by one of the audit teams regarding the private keys used.
they are currently in plain text format and i was wondering if it is possible to encrypt this file via Winscp?
