setting up public key for client session

I am relatively new to public key authentication so I'm sorry if this seems silly.

We have been given a public key so that we as a client can connect to a remote server. We do not have their private key. How can I use WinSCP to probably set up that public key on our end so we can connect to the server? Is there a specfic file we need to put it in locally? Is there an option in the settings?

We are using Version 5.1.7 (Build 3446) and I am using Commander.

Again, sorry if this seems obvious
