Why does WINSCP report my FTPS certificate to be invalid

I use Winscp to connect to a FTP over SSL server. The server uses a active directory domain certificate . This certificate is trusted by the win 7 os that I use on my desktop. When i use winscp to connect to the FTPS server from the win 7 desktop, it gives me a message that the certificate is not known with below summary " Unable to get local issues certificate, the error occurred at a depth of 1 in the certificate chain" There is just one certificate server which has issued this certificate.
