Re: Can connect to server; fails after editing a file

Please attach a full log file showing the problem (using the latest version of WinSCP).

To generate log file, enable logging, log in to your server and do the operation and only the operation that causes the error. Submit the log with your post as an attachment. Note that passwords and passphrases not stored in the log. You may want to remove other data you consider sensitive though, such as host names, IP addresses, account names or file names (unless they are relevant to the problem). If you do not want to post the log publicly, you can mark the attachment as private.

Can connect to server; fails after editing a file

This is a very strange problem. I can connect to my SFTP server just fine. It displays the files as normal. When I open, let's say a .doc file, edit it, and then save it the upload fails. It complains that it can't connect. My first instinct would be that it would be a firewall issue but the router is forwarding the port (otherwise I wouldn't be able to connect from the internet at all). I looked at /var/logs/auth.log on the file server and this particular line stuck out to me

sent status: no such file

is this relevant?

NOTE: this only happens when connecting from WAN not on the LAN.

Thanks
