Free is OpenSSH for Windows. Then there are many commercial servers. I have good experience with Vandyke.

Yes, it is something totally different. SSL is just secure connection thru which standard FTP protocol is tunneled. SFTP is totally different and better protocol then FTP and moreover it is tunneled thru SSH, not SSL.

My question is: How can I connect to popular FTP windows server Serv-U?
That server knows SSL, but WinSCP just SFTP. Is it something totally different?
Could WinSCP operate with Serv-U at all?

My goal is just to hide password...
