Re: Local browser scrolling triggers antivirus real time scan & lags window

It's rather loading of icons from .exe files.

You can turn that off using hidden confirmation option Interface\LocalIconsByExt:

Local browser scrolling triggers antivirus real time scan & lags window

Hi.

I'm using Win10 with Defender / Security Essentials.

I have a problem with WinSCP (thanks for an awesome program by the way), in that scrolling the Local browser in my Downloads folder, which naturally contains quite a few large archives and .exe installers, usually always freezes and lags for a few seconds repeatedly when scrolling down. Obviously this is because the on-access AV engine is scanning the files that the browsing window is showing.

I was just wondering, is this necessary? Is there perhaps something the program is doing that's causing this, that you might consider changing? I can't see an option for file previews or anything like that to turn off.
