Yes, it was drag and drop.

Re: 4 Gig files size limit

So what protocol are you actually using? I ask because 3.8.2 does not support FTP.

4 Gig files size limit

I am trying to transfer a file from linux which is 5.5G bytes.
It stops at exactly 4294967296, which is exactly 2^32, with a message something like its out of disk space.
I know that is wrong because there is over 6G free space.

How do I transfer a file larger than 2^32. (I've tried ver 3.8.2 and 4.0.2).
4.0.2 also has a problem that it won't re-launch for some reason.
More on that if/when i get a chance to trouble-shoot.

FTP transfer restarting. (Possibly 2GB file size limit)

On an ftpd of which my friend claims he can transfer considerably large (read >2GB) files, I set winscp 4.0.1 (Build 343) to download a file which is approximately 3.2GB. I left it running for about 5 hours, and when I returned, I found that it had restarted. It is my assumption that it had restarted multiple times.

There was enough empty space on the NTFS partition I had set winscp to transfer to. WinSCP was configured with the "explorer" style interface, and was run on Windows Vista (32-bit). "Hibernation" and all such power-saving features have been disabled, excluding those that require non-interactive inactivity, such as the hard drive being powered off after 20 minutes of hard drive inactivity. It has caused no previous issues.

I have read the FAQ and seen that it states that there is no ftp file size transfer limit. It is possible that another issue is causing the restart. I cannot know for sure as I closed the window before I knew about the log.

If you would like, I can set up a similiarly configured ftpd on my LAN to test. Please let me know if this is desired. I won't upgrade or make any changes I think could affect this functionality until I get a response.

Thanks.
