Crashes on longer file uploads

I get an "abnormal program termination" error when uploading longer files (or sometimes even smaller ones) to my server. I tried searching the support archives but didn't come up with anything helpful. Below is the relevant section of the logs.
Thanks,
~Evan

Re: Crashes on longer file uploads

Your server closed the connection. However reaction of WinSCP to the event (abnormal program termination) is evidently inappropriate.

Why did the server close the connection? I have full access to it and can change all its settings. I'm running Fedora Core 1 if that helps.

I do not know. Maybe you'll find some useful information in your server's log.

Here's the section from the log. It doesn't matter whether i log in as root or as a user. I couldn't find much helpful information on the error message about the "corrupted MAC". any ideas?

Jan 6 18:59:07 amelie sshd[20069]: Accepted password for evan from 192.168.1.1 port 3988 ssh2
Jan 6 18:59:39 amelie sshd[20071]: Disconnecting: Corrupted MAC on input.
Jan 6 19:00:46 amelie webmin[20121]: Successful login as root from 192.168.1.1

Re: Crashes on longer file uploads

What is your SSH server? You may try to turn on option "Miscomputes SSH2 HMAC keys" on Bugs tab of Login dialog in section "Detection of known bugs in SSH servers".

I'm running whatever comes with fedora core 1, openssh-3.6.1p2-19 as far as i can tell. When I try the option you specified, I can't login and get this message:
"Incorrect MAC received on packet"

Sorry, but I have no other hint for you :-( These kind of problems may also be caused by network problems. But it is hard to tell if it is your case.

Just FYI: I recently upgraded to Winscp 3.42 and immediately found the same behaviour: Crashes when uploading bigger files with "scp" ("norton style").
This happens with:
- Red Hat 9.0
- SuSE 9
Message: EAccessViolation

- this does also happen with Winscp 3.5 - it only does not exit the app
- this did not happen with my old version (2)
- this does not happen using command line "scp" from another client
- this can be avoided with Winscp when i decrease the transfer bandwidth down to <200kb/s

Great tool, though! ;-)

I'm just uploading debug version of WinSCP 3.5. Please try to reproduce the bug with it. Send me an error message and the file WinSCP3.cgl, which it generates to my email address.
